So after a few days of awful- ranging from missed buses, messed up groceries, and general bad day-ness to Cas dying a slow and painful death and Fanboy and I discovering HS has been Skyping and send pics of her in her underwear to a 16yro... and he was one of the younger ones, we found one guy who was like 32. And we found out the we were right and she was really sneaking off downtown to meet a boy/boys... we just didn't know how old they were (Pup has the horrible tendency to believe her, and tell me I'm being overbearing or paranoid *sigh*). So, yeah. And Pup wonders why I keep saying we need to keep an eye on HS on-line and off. And Pup won't let me put the parental controls on to keep her from going to some of the sites she's going to- a 10yro has no business being on strangers.se and the like. Anyway, after those wonderful few days I got the money to go get a new laptop... things have been a bit more normal since then. And after some careful hunting and speaking with my parrot Cas m2 is now fully equipped. I even got Photoshop CS6 installed (still trying to figure it out, but it's installed... we'll see if it lasts, I can always go back to my trusty Gimp if needs be :D ).
So thing thing with HS is really upsetting me, mainly because I don't feel like enough is being done and I really am tired of the excuses from everyone involved. Fanboy's out for blood; I was surprised he didn't go hunting the 16yro down. What kind of teenager/adult goes around calling a 10yro sexy and talking about wish she was with him in bed so they could cuddle and do other things... And with HS' history I find it even more worrying. I'm gonna keep fighting for turning the parental controls on, so...
You won't believe this on my game, Utopia, they recruited our 25th prov... and Tam PMs and tells me I have to get into our secondary chatroom now 'cause the new guy's not just from Tennessee, but from my hometown, lol. And the odds of that are what exactly??????? Because of the KD I joined (I did get into my friend's KD afterall, yay!), they have fairly strict rules about how the provs are allocate, you know what our roles are attackers, thieves, mages, hybrids, etc..., I was basically told straight up that I'd have to play attacker, which I'm still not exactly happy about- I'm a thief, I steal things, food, gold, runes, ppl, lol, and I also kill enemy troops in their sleep, always a fun time. :P But anyway, I've been playing attacker and trying to build my thieves up on the side all secret like, if half the KD knowing you're trying to pump your thieves can be called secret, but they're escapees from our old KD so they know what I can do as a thief and miss it. I've been told I'm not doing too bad for a newbie attacker, and Tam is walking me through everything even when I'm being thick. My attacks aren't the biggest they could be or maybe should be, but I'm not totally getting my ass kicked and I've managed to hold onto my honour so far, so...
Okay, a lot of the KDs in Utopia have themes, things the provs are named have a central idea behind them, it's supposed to be all team buildingy and for some of us it's just fun. Like us, our theme is colours so all our provs have a colour in their name, anyway, I found a KD whose KD page I just have to share:
not only is it a KD full of Sherlockians, but their MONARCH IS BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH!!!!!
Which led to one of the most surreal comments I've ever made. Fanboy was wanting me to look at something in DIII and I actually uttered the words, "Leave me alone I'm e-mailing Benedict Cumberbatch." Que much snorting, guffawing, and downright full on laughter, lol.
Finding that yesterday made me ridiculously happy. What?!?!?! I can be easy. :P
The gods damned bitch of a caseworker I have for SSD made me refile all the paperwork because I 'didn't get it to them in time' WTF? I sent it 3 times to two different offices and then you send me the EXACT SAME paperwork to refile saying the others were out of date??????? I think she's just pissed because when I sent in the last two copies I sent a note with it that said she was refusing to arrange a time to speak with me or give me contact information for the other offices she kept directing my mom to, not to mention my mom has my power of attorney for just such occasions, so there's no legal reason she couldn't talk to my mom and answer her questions!
On a related note, I got the paper into the shrink that he wanted, well, I hope it's what he wanted, it's a close as I could get. AND I got a letter from the ppl doing the Aspie and ADHD eval, which should mean that should start soon(ish), lol.
And lastly (I think) my fic, the Big Bang, I was really worried about how it was going over (still am, but I think that's a writer thing), but it's gone pretty well. I'm hoping to get it up on AO3 soon, once we get the art and credit figured out. And I got the coolest comment the other day, someone read Battle Hymns and took the time to follow the links back to my post here and commented, and after that she even rec'd me on tumblr. I was so shocked, still am.
