A Rare Merlin Play by Play... contains possible spoilers for 3x10

Okay, I wouldn’t normally do this, but rainbow_connec wanted to know what goes through the mind of a Arthur/Merlin shipper when confronted with a heavy Arthur/Gwen ep, so here goes…

Oh, and this is basically the way most of my play by play posts go, so if you haven’t seen the ep recently or aren’t uber familiar with it it probably won’t make much sense (I try to leave out specifics in case someone accidentally trips over this and manages to miss the whole possible spoilers thing *rolls eyes*), and it doesn’t include just the ship reactions, it’s everything, lol.

SPOILERS for those who haven't seen 3x10 yet

Mys’ play by play reaction to 3x10 “Queen of Hearts”:

And it’s times like these when the spelled/Stockholm Syndromed!Morgana is so effing believable, I mean, seriously, she goes from normal Morgana to weirdly I’m possessed Morgana with a look/touch from Morgause. I know she’s meant to go all Darkside, but shit can she look less like she’s being magicked over there?

Okay a) what’s with the uber pale colours while fussing about with the hearth!?!?!?! I mean, ignoring the beautiful anachronisms let’s talk common sense *head desk* b) it would really help if Merlin weren’t so bloody chipper about the whole thing… *grumbles about stupid oblivious boys*


Random- why is Gwen so cool around Morgana? Wasn’t she just freaking out over her doing magic a couple eps ago? Weird much? (adds to tally of ‘things to smack the writers’ for’)

Gods, his eyes are blue… I want to kiss the cinematographer, or whoever’s bright idea it was to film him that way… they did the same thing with Merlin’s eyes in Tears of Uther Pendragon, they’re just SO blue *sighs*

Woot! Gwen’s a closet Arthur/Merlin shipper!!!!! Even Guinevere cannot deny the epic Arthur/Merlin love!!!!!! There is hope for this ep yet :p~

Okay, they can stop with the kissing… can’t Uther and Morgana find them soon, pppppllllllllllsssssss

Much as want to be on Uther’s side in this, I just can’t when he’s being a complete and utter arse…

*wibbles* Idiot… can’t Morgana or Morgause just like I don’t know hit him upside the head until he comes to his senses… he’s supposed to be that unwavering for Merlin you know the one who risks his life for him every freaking day, the one who’s his best freaking friend!!!!!! *grrrrr* Even disregarding the slasher part, seriously, he never gets that way over Merlin and Merlin at least deserves it! *glares*

No, this was not as bad as I thought and funny as hell. THANK YOU FOR THIS.

I love how (just like me) your serious thoughts are interrupted by forearm!porn. Bradley has really nice hands too...and Colin! Jesus this whole show is just one big orgy on top of a PORN FEST.

And yes Arthur's eyes were enhanced like something out of Dune and yeah I love Excalibur (Young Liam Neeson and Helen Mirren \O/)

This episode had some of my favorite Uther moments, like when he tells Gaius that he doesn't care so much for his thoughts ATM. And my absolute favorite was when Arthur loses his shit and manhandles Uther and Uther gives him that Seriously!WTF look and his eyeballs got all: "Did you forget who the fuck I am".

*sighs* I can't wait for Friday night to relive it again.

Oh gods, yes, Uther in this was just wonderful. Oh, I loved that scene for both their reactions Uther being all 'You so did not just do that' and Arthur being all 'holy fuck, I so just did that ...and I'm not sorry'

I loved Arthur's and Merlin's expressions through the whole ep, it was like they were getting to let loose with the emotions for once instead of having to be all Prince and manservant all the time. 't was nice. ♥

*raises hand* I saw Excalibur, at least once. All 3+ hours of it, if I'm not mistaken... As well as Sam Neill's "Merlin" (the mini-series)... And Spamalot... And the Holy Grail... Alright, I think I'm done listing my geekability. XD

This was a great recounting, hon! And very similar to what goes through my mind while I'm watching. Though in any given ep I'm guaranteed to sigh "God, you're gorgeous," loudly and make cow-eyes at the screen when Arthur gets a particularly nice close-up. Or is on the screen. Same difference. ;-D

They've taken to showing it like once a week here, so I've been ODing on it, lol.

And I can't believe I forgot Robert Addie!!!! I had such a hard on for his Sir Guy when I was little- oh the fic I could've written if I'd only known... LOL

Haha, haven't seen Spamalot (unfortunately) but seen the others, oh and I haven't been able to make myself sit through First Knight, I just... I have issues with the whole Gwen/Lance thing when it's portrayed in Legend.

Aw, thank you, hun... I usually just think 'm nattering, lol. And I think we ALL do that in any given (ie every) ep... well, would if you don't have an uber jealous wife who gets almost psychotically jealous of bloody tv characters/shows. *rolls eyes*

Spamalot is actually up on youtube, the whole performance. It's only a surreptitious camera recording of the show, but it's decent quality, considering. Plus, it's the original cast! You def. should watch it; if you like Monty Python movies, you're gonna love this even if it is a musical. ;-D

:P I love Monty Python and I love musicals... I proudly drive the Clan insane on a regular basis by getting various atrocities stuck in my head and then singing them! I think they know the entirety of Fiddler, Les Mis, Godspell, and, of course, Camelot. *evil grin*
And I'm still planning to do a cracky Arthur vid to "I Wonder What the King is Doing Tonight" *insert maniacal laugh here*

Merlin's best moment for me was when Arthur accused him of spilling the beans to Uther. His reaction was priceless.

*nods* It was a great scene... you just wanted to pet and cuddle Arthur to try to calm him down and hug and kiss Merlin for having to be... and being so... and just... yeah, everything.
Though I think my favourite scene really was when old!Merlin was planting the poultice and him being so bloody Merlin and then Arthur... gods, I can't even think about it without laughing, lol.

Yeah, I found out from Cheeky, my stalker account has been following him for a couple days... :) Yes I am that big of a geek that I have multiple Twitter accts, including one whose sole purpose is to follow famous or should be famous ppl, lol.

There couldn't be too many rainbowmisha's out there. Twitter frustrates me to no end. I met one of the co-founders before he went to work for the Google and co-founded Twitter and made a bazillion dollars. BUT I AM SO NOT JEALOUS OR NOTHING. :D
