What the fuck? "sissy-uke" (and yes, I had to fucking look it up!) Really? Dude, he just woke up to find out he couldn't hear- it's not a fucking hangnail! I think he has the right to be freaked out and not be the strong one!!! Seriously, wtf!?!?! And if you're going to insult my characterization gimme something more than that or why the fuck bother- esp when you're insulting such a sensitive matter? Tell you what asshat, you come back and e-mail me once you've been there or know someone who has; then maybe I'll listen to your blathering. Until then, be glad 'm too angry to reply to you...

WTF? If someone is attacking your characterization of Merlin I have some Psychology of Deafness textbooks that I will loan them. Having both studied Psychology of Deafness and known several people that have gone deaf suddenly I thought you did a wonderful job of expanding Merlin's character into that situation and portraying a fairly accurate picture of how he would have acted, if not even more hysterical or withdrawn. As far as Arthur goes, he felt guilty for what happened to Merlin and since he cares for him he is also scared and thrown off balance. Your Arthur came across as just that I thought. I have no idea how to say it but I read the review and I think it's not as bad as it sounds. From what I saw, she's mostly from the Japanese animation fandom where characters are defined as seme/uke (top/bottom) but it really affects all their personality, like if you're a top, you're not supposed to show any feelings and be cool whatever happens to you. I'm just saying she may be biased towards Merlin's characterization and she probably has no idea how offensive the word sissy can be.

Anyway, what I wanna say is to stay cool. The pit is full of flamers and idiots ^^ *hugs*

By the way I thought your characterization was great, sorry not to have left any review, I was kind of down lately and stayed away from LJ.
