Kudzu is naturally occuring in Asian countries and NOT the US.
Somewhere around the 1900's a some farmer who'd spent time in Japan I want to say, but I could be wrong, decided that since kuduz is so prolific it would make a great cow feed, it kept growing so he wouldn't have to worry about maintaining a food supply and he wouldn't have to worry about the affect of grazing on the grass/hay etc...
Only, two things went wrong, the cows wouldn't eat it, and it turned out to be virtually indestructible and quite virolent. Most states actually have very strict laws about what comes in from the South because of it.
...this is what comes from having 3 librarians in your family and 3 triva whores, lol. I made the mistake of asking my uncle one day why kudzu was only in the South.

*giggles* That's actually one of the first icons I ever made. When CM first came out everyone on the planet seemed to either be making Princess Bride or Dead Like Me jokes.
